September 4th, 2007Michigan Fan Suicide Watch

The biggest college football news from this past weekend has to be the enormous upset of the Appalachian State Mountaineers over the Michigan Wolverines 34-32. It marks the first time in history that a DI-AA team beat a ranked team, let alone the #5 ranked team. This could go down as the greatest upset in college football history. There’s a reason why people say “That’s why you play the game.”
So of the 109,000 people in attendence at the start of the game, I’m wondering how many of them were there till the end. I hope Michigan fans remember that it’s ‘just a game.’ Don’t you want to punch someone in the face anytime you hear the phrase ‘It’s just a game’? The suicide watch was out Saturday night. Cops scoured the roof tops in search of disgruntled and angry Michigan fans. Luckily as of right now there are no suicides reported.
It has to suck to know that you’re season is over after the first week. Michigan could win out and be 10-1 at the end of the season, but that one loss is going to keep them out of the top rankings in a different way than if it was a loss to Ohio State. Michigan needs to accept their new role as ’spoiler.’ Their season is over. Their job now is to ruin other teams seasons much like their was ruined.
